Happy Diwali!

Diwali or Deepavali is the Indian "festival of lights" to celebrate the triumph of light over dark and good over evil. We celebrate the festival by lighting up our houses and streets with candles, lamps, and handmade diyas (the small decorative clay lamps in the cover picture) and create rangoli designs, made of colored sand or rice. We wear our best new clothes to gather with family and friends and enjoy lots of special food and sweets. This is arguably one of the biggest national holidays in Indian (and some other countries in the Indian subcontinent)!

I wore a lehenga this Diwali! I'm absolutely in love with this one - I originally got it for Garba (a Gujurati dancing festival that happens earlier in the year along with Navratri) but that got canceled this year due to COVID:( I also love wearing traditional Indian clothes and hate not having many opportunities to dress in them.
